"No posting to a list may be reposted to another list or other
public forum, or redistributed to any other non-member of the list,
without the express permission of the original poster, either by
their granting that permission in the original post or by their
giving it on-list or privately after the post was sent. No academic
use, no citations in outside discussion, nada, no way"
~ Roger Klorese, queernet owner guy.
Next, some rules specifically for glbt knit
:)
Do not type your entire message in capitals as this is considered
to be shouting and looks rather confronting. You may, by all means,
type sentences or words in capitals if you're really excited about
something. Excitement is fully encouraged ;)
Flaming on the list is not allowed. If you feel strongly enough
about something to send a flame wait 24 hours, then if you still
want to, send it privately to the person concerned.
Flaming on the list will result in a warning from me (Sarah), and
possible removal from the list.
Do not tell non-members of the list the names or email addresses
of people on the list. Also, if members use an alias onlist and
you know their real name, you may not reveal it to the list without
their permission
Advertising is allowed on the list to a small extent. Don't use
the list solely for the purpose of advertising. However, if you
stock an item someone is looking for, or have a sale on, please
let us all know!
When replying to a message you must delete any unnecessary text
from the old message. Otherwise members who read the list in digest
mode receive many copies of old emails, making it very difficult
to see new content.
Some rules we have in common with the
big knit list (paraphrased from the knit list FAQ):
Be very careful when you post patterns to the list. Patterns may
be posted only if they meet the following criteria:
1. It is an original design by YOU or you have permission from
the copyright owner to post it.
2. It is not based upon an existing, published design.
Failure to meet these criteria could result in legal proceedings
by the original holder of a copyright, against the person who posted
the pattern or even against me (the list owner) because of the very
strange internet laws we have in Australia.
Does the list software handle email attachments?
No. Do not send them. Attachments may be things that you deliberately
link to a piece of email, such as a picture or a file from a word
processor, or they may be electronic "signatures" that your email
software attaches to your emails without your knowledge.
If you're using a new email program, check its settings and make
sure it's not sending "cards" or encoded signatures with your mail,
or sending two copies of your email message, one in plain text and
one in HTML.
If you would like to share any files other
than photos:
you may e-mail them to me (Sarah, the list owner) at glb-knit-owner@groups.queernet.org
and I will place them in the members only area on the list's web
page at http://www.glbt-knit.com
or they can be posted on my website at http://www.knitting-and.com
if they are knitting related (please state which website you would
like them on).
If you would like to send photos for the
list's photo gallery:
Email them to
dfnojunk@sunset.net
with the description you would like added to the photo in the gallery.
More information about the list's photo galleries can be found on
the gallery
page in the members only section.
The username and password for the members
only page will be emailed to you in the welcome message
when you join the list. The member's only area also contains profiles
of list members (this is not compulsory!) and any files that members
send to me for sharing with members of GLBT-Knit
If you have any problems with
any aspect of this list, such as unsubbing etc, please contact
me at glb-knit-owner@groups.queernet.org
and I will try and help you.
